2006
Kyle Wipf (CA97)
I have a co-worker (Armando) that has a 20 mo. old son (Abraham) with epilepsy and a brain tumor. Please pray for the family in their trial. Pray also for the Lord's guidance and wisdom as I try to minister and witness to Armando in this time.
Steve Francis (CA75)
On Oct 13 I will undergo a procedure on my back for the second time, in hopes of being able to return as the Protestant Chaplain for Centinela State Prison in Imperial, CA. I have been off since May 11. Pray that God would guide the doctor through this procedure and also that this ministry might continue.
Lee Wonch (CA2006)
I have been filling the pulpit primarily at two churches and now am going to be voted on by both to be their pastor. Pray that I will make a good decision on which one to choose if it comes to that. We are also on a vacation/wedding in Spearfish SD with some transmission problems. Pray we get home.
Jim (CA86) and Lydia (Neufeld CA86) Johnson
They are missionaries in Brazil and Lydia was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Pray that the doctors will have wisdom as they help Lydia, and that both Jim and Lydia will know whether to stay in Brazil and seek treatment, or return to the states.
Van (CA2003) and Amy (Langmade CA2003) Spratford
Please pray that we will be able to adopt the precious foster baby we have in our home right now, so that she can stay in a safe, loving, nurturing, strong Christian family. In October, a group of people will choose who will get to keep her. Pray for this group that they will have wisdom in the decision.
Christie Whistler (CA2006)
As a full-time missionary with Covenant Players, we rely upon God for everything from food and lodging to general upkeep of the van as we travel around the United States sharing God's Word through drama. Right now we are having van, health, and financial challenges. Please pray for peace and God's provision.
Chet Evans (CA84)
Pray for a slow progression for me with Parkinson's disease. So far it is only a tremor in my left hand.
Bonnie Weaver (CA82*)
will be going on her first mission trip to Rwanda, Africa from September 3-17 to assist in an AIDS clinic. Please pray for the seven members of this team as they go.
Joel Wentworth (CA85)
is the pastor of Countryside Baptist Fellowship in Emmet, NE and has been diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis and is currently fighting for his life. To read more about Joel's progress, and to better know how to pray for him, please visit his church website at www.countrysidebaptistfellowship.org/html/updates.html
Norma Jean Taylor (CA86)
has been diagnosed with spinocerebellar degenerative syndrome. This is a condition where her cerebellum is shrinking and dying. Norma completed her final year of teaching High School classes at Blue Ridge Christian School in Kansas City, MO this past year. She was a teacher there for 20 years. If you'd like to contact Norma to send a note of encouragement or find out more information, please contact me at alumni@calvary.edu
Thomas Hunter (CA71)
On September 27, 2005, I was placed on the heart transplant list. We have started working with The National Foundation for Transplants ( P.O. Box 2291, Stillwater, OK 74076) to raise money for the transplant. Our immediate need is to raise $20,000 and then to raise another $80,000 by year's end. We have been blessed to have a committee to help with this. However, I humbly ask you to let the alumni know of this situation that they might begin to pray. If anyone wants to support the cause financially, all gifts are tax-deductible through NFT. We need prayer for my condition until a transplant is available. We also need pray for the donor's family and situation. We are asking God for the best possible situation for the donors family.
Elizabeth Redd (Allen CA01*)
My husband Mark, recently had his kidneys fail. Please pray he will be able to get on the transplant list soon and be able to fully recover after receiving this transplant.
