Following God's Calling

Dr. Elwood Chipchase

Dr. Chipchase has served as President of Calvary Bible College and Calvary Theological Seminary since June 1999.

Dr. Chipchase has had a long and distinguished pastoral ministry and is widely known all over the United States. He served six churches as Pastor and two Bible institutes as Academic Dean and professor.

He came to Calvary after a 14-year ministry as Senior Pastor of the Cicero Bible Church in Cicero, Illinois.  During his ministry at Cicero, he was involved in bringing pastoral students to his church and conducting an internship program for them.  His enthusiastic interest in training men and women for ministry is a great asset to his ministry here at the College and Seminary.

Dr. Chipchase has also served as a consultant to Christian schools.  He is a past president of the IFCA International; he has served on the boards of the Chinese Bible College, Biblical Ministries Worldwide, and the Illinois Bible Church Mission; and he continues to serve on the boards of Pacific Garden Mission and Fellowship International Mission.  He has also served on the Regional and National Executive Committees of the IFCA International and has served as president of the IFCA Church Extension Council.  From 1969-1971 he taught and was Academic Dean at Southland Bible Institute in Pikeville, KY.

The Chipchases have three married sons.  Mrs. Chipchase (Joy) has always carried on a very active supporting role with her husband's ministry.  She also is a popular banquet speaker and gifted soloist.

Dr. Chipchase received his B.A. degree in 1973 from the Sacramento Baptist College; his M.A. in 1975 from Missionary Baptist College; his D.Min. in 1977 from Andrew Baptist Seminary; and his D.D. in 2000 from Cornerstone University.
