Dr. James Clark
Dr. Clark Called as New President
The Board of Trustees has selected Dr. James Clark as the new president of Calvary, effective July 1, 2009. Dr. Clark has served for the last eleven years at Calvary as Academic Dean and Vice-President of the College.
Dr. Clark received his B.S. degree in 1967 from Calvary Bible College. He attended Bethel Theological Seminary for two years before transferring to Trinity Theological Seminary, where he finished his M.Div. in 1989. He earned his Ph.D. in 1993 from Trinity College and Seminary.
He came to Calvary Bible College and Theological Seminary in 1993 as faculty member and chair of the Biblical Counseling Department. He established the Biblical Counseling and Education Center, serving as Director/Counselor for fourteen years. He was appointed Academic Dean in 1998 and then served as Vice President and Academic Dean of the College for eight years before becoming President in 2009. During that time, he also served as the Accreditation Coordinator.
Prior to joining the College and Seminary faculty, he served over 20 years in the local church ministry as associate pastor and senior pastor. He also served as a chaplain for a community college, a Minnesota correctional facility, and a volunteer fire department. Prior to the pastorate, he served as an Executive Director for Southeast Iowa Youth For Christ.
He is actively involved as a seminar speaker, a conference speaker, and a speaker at retreats, camps, and local churches. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Avant Ministries and of Evangelical Enterprises, Inc., and is a founding member of "Counselor's Edge," a counseling ministry based in the greater Kansas City area.
Dr. Clark and his wife, DeLoris, have three children and eleven grandchildren.
